Short description

At Port of Antwerp-Bruges International (PoABI), we are looking for a Solution Lead Port Strategy & Masterplanning who can effortlessly combine strategy, people management, and international impact.

Your challenge

PoABI, a subsidiary of Port of Antwerp-Bruges, is looking to strengthen its team with a manager for the Port Strategy & Masterplanning solution (or department).

In this role, you will be responsible for both the strategy and services of the solution and the people management of the team. The solution combines expertise in port strategy & governance, commercial support for ports, and port master planning. Each of these areas is managed by a coordinator and supported by a team of around 15 experts.

Strategy & services

  • You will determine the strategic vision and services of the Port Strategy & Masterplanning solution.
  • You will monitor international port-related trends and translate these into advisory processes for ports worldwide.
  • You actively participate in international projects and act as a senior sparring partner for clients and stakeholders.
  • In your commercial role, you identify opportunities and represent PoABI in projects and regions.

People management

  • You encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing between the different domains.
  • You are strongly committed to the development, feedback, and performance of employees.
  • You create a team culture in line with PoABI's DNA.

Knowledge sharing & representation

  • You will contribute to knowledge development and thought leadership within your domain.
  • You will share expertise through training courses and workshops organized by APEC.
  • You will represent PoABI at international forums and conferences.

Your profile

  • You have a master's degree (preferably in economics, engineering, or maritime studies).
  • You have at least 10 years of relevant experience in port development, strategy, governance, or master planning.
  • You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on mentality.
  • You have demonstrable experience in managing and developing teams.
  • You feel comfortable in an international and multicultural context.
  • You are analytically strong, diplomatic, and a smooth communicator.
  • Language skills are essential: you speak and write fluent English and French. Dutch is an asset, or you are open to learning it.
  • Courage, connection, and sustainable impact are values you can fully identify with.

Our offer

At POABI, you will have the opportunity to help build a sustainable future for ports worldwide. What sets us apart? Courage, connection, and sustainable impact. We all share the same ambition: to make a difference and together move a pebble in the river (no matter how small that pebble may seem, it can cause surprisingly big waves).

We offer you:

· International impact & sustainable change – you will work on projects in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East, with tangible results in terms of sustainable growth, digitization, and port efficiency

· Collaboration & connection – you will be part of a close-knit team where knowledge sharing, challenging each other, and celebrating successes together are a given, with an accessible management team, short lines of communication, and a flat structure that truly enhances collaboration

· Courage & autonomy – you will have the freedom to plan your work, formulate innovative ideas, and take responsibility in challenging contexts

· Inspiring workplace – your base is the iconic Port House in Antwerp, but you will regularly be abroad for assignments (on average one week per month, mainly outside Europe)

· Attractive conditions – a competitive salary with an extensive package of fringe benefits (including meal and eco vouchers, sports and culture vouchers, hospitalization and group insurance, disability insurance, lease bike, Benefits at Work) and allowances for foreign missions. Supplemented with a company car or mobility budget.
